A very intense proton source has been identified by the Fermilab Long-Range Planning Committee as one of the leading candidates for a future facility at Fermilab.
The Fermilab Director has requested a study to prepare for the next step, which will require documentation sufficient to establish mission need, as defined by the
DOE CD-0 process. The study is to be completed by the end of 2004. The study will explore both the physics program at, and the technical implementation of a MegaWatt -
scale proton driver at Fermilab.
